Van Rossem Talks about the Baarn years of Escher

In the same Baarn Van Rossem meets Mark Veldhijsen, the manager of Escher’s large archive. Veldhijsen: “He was very satisfied in Baarn, especially about where he lived, so close to the woods. He went for a walk for at least two hours every day, for example. Landscapes were his great source of inspiration. At Groeneveld Castle he made one of his most important works ” the three worlds’. He never left home without a sketchbook.”
