The Belgian Wout Van Aert won the E3 Classic, general rehearsal of the Tour of Flanders nine days before the Round, by sprinting ahead of his two breakaway companions, the Dutchman Mathieu van der Poel and the Slovenian Tadej Pogacar, Friday March 24 in Harelbeke. The leader of the Jumbo formation, winner for the first time this season, thus signs the double after having already won last year.
