The Finnish driver got to know the track of his farewell race by cycling.
Sauber’s Valtteri Bottas drove 13th in the opening practice of the last race weekend of the Formula One World Series season in Abu Dhabi.
Bottas missed out on the Ferrari that set the fastest lap About Charles Leclerc just under 1.3 seconds. The second was McLaren’s Lando Norris more than 0.2 seconds from the top and third for Mercedes Lewis Hamilton almost half a second slower than Leclerc.
The Abu Dhabi GP is the last F1 World Series race for Bottas.
The second practice starts at 3 p.m.
Bottas, who actively enjoys cycling, posted a video on his social media account cycling through the Abu Dhabi track before practice.
