Alfa Romeo’s Valtteri Bottas drove to the last section of the Mexican GP in qualifying.
Valtteri Bottas achieved a top performance in the time trials of the Mexican GP on the night before Saturday and Sunday Finnish time.
Bottas was ninth and drove into the third section, which has been rare for Alfa Romeo this season. Bottas’ best finish of the season is the seventh starting grid in Hungary.
Bottas thus continued his wild streak, as he has never missed the final stage in Mexico.
The front row seats went to Ferrari when Charles Leclerc defeated his teammate Carlos Sainz by just under seven hundredths. Fresh world champion Max Verstappen was third, less than a tenth behind the top time.
Alfa Romeo’s performance has varied during the season, but overall the team’s pace has been far from the points. Bottas is in 14th place in the driver’s championship standings with only ten points.
In Tallinn, Alfa Romeo is third last in the World Series before Haas and Alpha Tauri.
