Valorant voice chat recordings will be placed under Riots probation

Riot is working on a controversial system, Valorant voice chat recordings will be recorded and the firm will take these into account when penalizing.

Valorant voice chat recordings will start to be recorded in North America from July 13 with a new system developed by Riot. Riot states that with this method, “inappropriate behavior” will be dealt with more easily. The firm described this move as “a move within the scope of combating players who exhibit inappropriate behavior”. Riot has also updated its user agreement to require players to consent to their voice conversations being recorded.

Valorant voice chat recordings will land on Riot’s radar

In a post on the subject, Riot stated that these audio recordings “will only be reviewed when negative behavior is reported.” In addition, the company plans to spread this system to all its games if this system is tested in Valorant and has positive results.

Riot stated that the voice conversations to be recorded at this stage will not be used for the reporting of the players, but only for the testing process. The firm wants to make sure the system works properly before rolling it out to all of its games. Riot stressed that voice chats will prove whether the alleged misconduct occurred and enable them to clearly explain why a penalty was given when a player objects. The system will record English conversations in North America for now.

However, if I were a Valorant player, I would be bothered to think that even voice conversations are being tracked. The Valorant crossover event, on the other hand, started recently.
