Valorant VCT EMEA Phase 2 Challengers starts tomorrow

Everything you need to know about the next phase of the arena where VALORANT competition is at the highest level in Europe.

VCT EMEA Phase 2 picks up where Phase 1 left off; 12 of EMEA’s top VALORANT teams battle to top the region, earn Stage Points, and secure a limited number of invaluable international invites.

Valorant VCT EMEA Phase 2 Challengers details

Few teams could match Fnatic and FunPlus Phoenix in Phase 1, and the group winners soon found themselves facing each other in the top group finals in the Playoffs. Performing 13-0 in the Split, FPX won that match and continued on their way to a 3-1 victory over G2 Esports in the grand final. However, the taste of the victory remained in his mouth. The Tier 1 champion was unable to compete at Masters 1 due to travel restrictions, and there hasn’t been a top 4 EMEA team in Reykjavik.

FPX still has a lot to prove. Will he remain the king of EMEA or will a team emerge that can replace him at the top?

FORMAT OVERVIEW

Just like Stage 1, the format of VCT EMEA Stage 2 Challengers is divided into Group Stage and Playoffs. In the group stage, 12 teams are divided into two groups of 6 and each group will be played in a single series league style. The teams in the top three of the groups will advance to the playoffs, and the top teams will skip the first round matches. All matches in the group stage will be played as BO3.

In the playoffs, the six teams that managed to rise will compete in the double elimination group. All matches will be played as BO3. There are two exceptions to this: the subgroup final and the grand final. These matches will be held in BO5 format. The top three teams finishing the playoffs will represent EMEA at Masters 2.

All teams in VCT EMEA Tier 2 Challengers will earn Stage Points based on where they complete the challenge, which teams need to qualify for the VCT Champions or Final Chance Qualifier.
