The 2022 VALORANT esports EMEA changes have been detailed recently and eight VALORANT Regional Leagues have been announced: VRL DACH, Turkey, CIS, France, MENA, Northern Europe, Spain and East. Valorant Regional League qualifier dates announced
All VRL regular seasons will begin the week of February 14. The dates and formats for determining the teams that will compete in the VRL regular seasons:

An open qualifier will take place from January 24 to 30 in the VRL, which includes teams from Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Open qualifying rounds will be held in the form of BO3 groups, limited to 128 teams, according to the double elimination system. If more than 128 teams apply for the open qualifiers, a BO1 round will be held before the 128-team groups. The top eight placed teams of the open qualifiers will advance to the VRL regular season tournament.
VRL Turkey: Union — Organized by ESA Esports
Open and closed qualifiers will take place in Turkey VRL from January 25th to 31st. The teams that will participate in the VRL will be determined through two open qualifiers (January 25 – 26), followed by a closed qualifier (January 27 – 31).
All open qualifiers will be held as BO1, with the format reverting to BO3 for the last sixteen teams in the first open qualifiers and the eight final teams in the second open qualifiers. Eight BO3 winners from the first open qualifiers and four BO3 winners from the second open qualifiers will advance to the closed qualifiers, with four directly invited teams (2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th in the 2nd VCT Qualifier) to a 16-team qualifier. will create the arena.

Open and closed qualifiers will take place at the Commonwealth of Independent States VRL from January 26 to January 30.
The open qualifiers limited to 256 teams will take place in a single elimination, BO3 group system, and the top four teams will advance to the closed qualifiers. In the closed qualifier, the four directly invited teams based on the results of the VCT Qualifiers, together with the four open qualifier teams, will compete for VRL entry.
During the closed qualifiers, teams will compete in a shortened doubles elimination, BO3 tournament format. Only the first two rounds of the upper and lower divisions will be played, as the top four teams will participate in the VRL.

The open qualifiers for the VRL in France will be held from January 26 to 30 in BO3 groups, limited to 128 teams. If more than 128 teams apply for the open qualifiers, a BO1 round will be held before the 128-team groups.
The top two places in the open qualifiers will advance to the VRL France regular season. Here, they will compete against six directly invited teams to try to win the right to represent their region in the EMEA Promotion Tournament.

The MENA region’s VRL open qualifiers will be held from January 26 to 31. Due to the size of the region, the MENA is divided into two sub-regions:
- Sub-Region #1 – Gulf Cooperation Council + Iraq
- Sub-District #2 – Levant and North Africa
Sub-regions will hold open qualifying within themselves and these will be split into two phases. The first stage will be between 64 teams divided into eight groups of eight. Teams within the groups will play one round each, and the two top-ranked teams from each group will advance to the next stage of the open qualifiers.
In the second stage, the remaining 16 teams will face each other in a single elimination format, in the BO3 group system, and the group winners will be matched with the runners-up of the other groups. As a result of these matchups, the top four teams, ie a total of eight teams from both subregions, will qualify for the VRL MENA.
VRL Northern Europe: Polaris — Organized by Promod Esports
The open and closed qualifiers for VRL Northern Europe — the league covering Scandinavia, Ireland and the United Kingdom — will be held from January 26 to 30.
Teams will start the open qualifiers in the single elimination system, in the BO3 tournament format. The winners of this round will advance to the closed qualifier, where a 16-team double elimination tournament will take place, hosting BO3 matches. The top eight teams from the closed qualifiers will then advance to the VRL Northern Europe regular season. In determining these eight VRL teams, only the first two rounds of the upper and lower group of the closed qualifiers will be played.

Spain’s 10-team VRL regular season has one slot for one team — the other nine slots will be made up of directly invited teams. Teams that will try to grab this single slot will compete in open and closed qualifiers from January 26 to 31.
In the open qualifiers (January 26 – 27), teams will go through single elimination, which will start in BO1 format and turn into BO3 in the round of 64. The top four teams will come out of the closed qualifiers (January 26 – 31) and will face the four directly invited teams in a single elimination, BO3 group format. The winning team from this group will qualify for VRL Spain.

VRL East; A large region comprising Poland, Romania, Greece, Hungary and the Czech Republic, and one team from each of these five countries will be directly invited to the regular season.
The remaining three slots will be filled as a result of the three open qualifiers from January 24th to 28th. In each double elimination, the winner of the BO3 group will receive the VRL East ticket.
