Iron Gate AB has confirmed new content for the Valheim’s Midsummer event and revealed details of players’ anticipated Mistlands update.
Iron Gate AB has yet to fully release its early access game, Valheim. But the viking survival game continues to receive content and fixes through regular patches in preparation for such a launch. Confirming more information about this year’s Valheim Midsummer event, Iron Gate AB also detailed the additions coming to the game with the anticipated Mistlands update.
Valheim unveils new content
This year’s Valheim changes include more than last year’s offerings. While Valheim players were able to construct Maypole’s and certain types of banners during the event of the same name last year, Valheim’s Midsummer 2022 patch adds even more colorful items to the crafting roster alongside a flower crown.
The Valheim Mistlands update will bring the Mistlands biome appropriately to the survival game, adding to nine different existing biomes, each with their own enemies and materials to collect. Iron Gate AB has confirmed that one of the powerful enemies remaining in the Mistlands is known as the tick, which is a large replica of the real insect that spreads Lyme disease to deer, dogs, squirrels and humans. It’s unclear at this time whether Valheim players will be poisoned by these ticks in Mistlands, but given that the survival game already has a poison debuff, it looks like it’s possible that players will have to tread lightly around them.
Among other things confirmed for Valheim’s Mistlands update, Iron Gate AB stated that fishing will be expanded and players will be able to mount their catch on the walls of their bases. Iron Gate AB, which didn’t provide any details on what add-ons the Valheim crafting table and forge will have after the Mistlands update, will require fans of undisclosed items.
Iron Gate AB stated that the Mistlands update is working on the primary Valheim team, with two external teams working on Xbox Game Pass. It is currently unclear when the Mistlands update will be released, although the Midsummer update brings more content to Valheim and Iron Gate AB has announced some changes coming with Mistlands. While most Valheim fans responded enthusiastically to the Mistland hints, other players suggested various survival games as gap-fillers to play until Mistlands’ launch.
