Valborg brings heat and it remains for the first few days of May in large parts of the country, according to SMHI’s forecast.
The weather on the evening of Valborg fair usually means everything from high summer heat to snow and rain, also far in the south.
But this year, the heat seems to be able to take a firm hold over the day.
SMHI’s meteorologist writes in an early morning comment, on website n, that a minor high pressure comes over Sweden from the southeast in the company of mild and spring-warm air which then spreads over the whole country.
In some places, in the far south and at the top of the north, there may be sun and clouds every other and maybe a shower.
Heat also brings with it the risk of grass fires in northern Götaland, snow-free parts of Svealand and southern Norrland.
When it’s time for May Day celebrations, the heat remains and the sun means that it can be up to 20 degrees in some places.
