In several countries in Europe it is currently unusually warm.
Several new heat records were set during the New Year’s weekend. Among others in Denmark, Poland, the Netherlands and France. In the Czech Republic, it was over 19 degrees on New Year’s Day.
In total, there were almost 870 heat records in Germany and 113 in France, which meant that well over 1,000 new records were set.
TV4 News meteorologist Lasse Rydqvist believes that he has never experienced anything like this.
– This is the most exceptional thing I could present. It is something I have never experienced, he says.
Even at home, the year has started mildly – with over ten degrees in Malmö on Sunday – but the cold is expected to return soon.
