Ostrobothnia’s police will not start a preliminary investigation related to suspected ethical violations in the activities of Vaasan Sport’s U16 team.
At the end of December, Vaasan Sport submitted an investigation request to the police regarding the activities that occurred in their junior team. Sport described the events as “serious ethical violations”, but did not elaborate on what it was all about.
The police say they have spoken to the parties involved. Based on the investigations, the police consider that there is no reason to suspect a crime.
On Friday afternoon, the Ostrobothnia police passed on the executive director of Junior-Sport to the media Jukka Leinon comment on the termination of the investigation:
– Based on our conversations with the police, it has become clear that the information we received about a serious ethical breach in the team has not come true. No evidence has been found that a serious failure has occurred. However, it has turned out that there are things in the team’s operating culture that we as a club should strive to change.
Leino adds in the police announcement that in the future the junior organization plans to pay special attention to the team’s operating culture and rules.
