V Rising is enjoying great success and has been largely positive so far. However, there is one feature that is bothering some fans now: building a base or maintaining it.
What’s the problem with the fans? In V Rising you wake up as a weak vampire and now you have to survive in the world full of dangers. Enemies, the sun and any PvP players want to prevent you from doing so.
A base that you can upgrade to a castle with thick walls should help you to defy the dangers. But that is exactly where the problem lies, because the basis does not last forever. Players have to feed them with so-called blood essences, otherwise the cozy home will expire and you will have to rebuild it.
The construction of your base eats up a lot of resources and of course it’s very annoying when it falls apart because you can’t or don’t want to play at the moment.
How long does the base last? If you put 100 Blood Essence in the heart of the castle, it will last about 12 real hours before disappearing. So you’re forced to constantly farm blood essences and put them in the heart of the castle if you don’t want to lose your progress – annoying, the players find.

No breaks in V Rising because the Castle Heart demands it?
So if you want to go on vacation for 1 week, want to take a little break or just don’t have time to collect blood essences and put them in your heart, you will be punished by the game.
What are the players saying about this? There are some reviews on Steam that express their displeasure. Not only PvP players can destroy the base, but also the game itself, which is not for casual gamers.
Statements from the reviews that summarize the criticism well:
Furthermore, some comment that the game is designed to be played in a group. Farming and the aspect of blood essences are less of a hindrance. As an occasional and solo player, however, you have bad cards.
What do you say to that? Have you also encountered this obstacle in V Rising or do you have any tips for effectively farming blood essences in single player? Let us know in the comments.
