V: Climate investments provide 80,000 jobs

V Climate investments provide 80000 jobs

The Left Party estimates that 80,000 new jobs will be created with the party’s proposed climate investments.

V leader Nooshi Dadgostar will in his speech at Järva Week today talk about how more jobs should be created. She points out that unemployment is now close to eight percent.

– It has permanents at too high levels. We must now push down unemployment, says Dadgostar.

V recently presented a proposal to invest SEK 70 billion per year for ten years in investments to reduce climate emissions.

Now the party has calculated that those investments would provide 80,000 new jobs in the private sector.

“Only with this climate investment would unemployment be significantly reduced to 5.5 percent, instead of the government’s forecast of around 7 percent,” says Dadgostar.

The total of SEK 700 billion in V’s proposed climate investments will be used for, among other things, new trunk lines for trains, new housing, renovation of rental housing and power lines.

It would create jobs for, for example, civil servants, civil engineers and electricians, according to V.

– Not everyone has training for this, however, Dadgostar states.

But she states that a “very large majority” of the unemployed have a high school education or more.

– Educational initiatives and labor market training are very effective. The problem is that we invest far too little in it, says Dadgostar.

V is now developing a training program that will be presented later.

Dadgostar believes that investments in infrastructure projects are significantly better at creating jobs than, for example, reduced employer contributions.

The climate investments of 700 billion in ten years that V wants to invest in, are intended to be financed by the state borrowing money.
