Utrechtse Mirna learns to run again with Blade after amputation

The Utrechtse was 29 when she was admitted to hospital with a carnivorous bacterium, now fifteen years ago. She had bumped her leg and she also got a throat infection. A carnivorous bacterium was created in her body. “I am lucky that I am still there,” says Roosma. She was in a coma for ten days and her leg was immediately amputated. Even though you don’t hear it often, the Utrechtse is happy that her leg was amputated. “Otherwise I would not have survived.”
