The plan for a building on the Jaarsbeursplein has been in the works for some time. In 2020, residents of the city were asked what would make the Jaarbeursplein building a success for them. More than 4,000 Utrecht residents responded to this, including many young people. “Utrecht clearly spoke out for a spectacular building for everyone, night catering and meeting space,” the municipality writes.
