The power-supplying shared cars are the result of a collaboration between car sharing companies MyWheels and We Drive Solar. The cars of the first company will soon be connected to the charging stations of the second company. Unlike normal electric cars, they can not only charge there, but also discharge them. This allows them to supply the electricity grid with electricity when there is more demand for it. The cars do not generate electricity themselves, but are charged with solar and wind energy.
