After the Second World War, the geographical institute decided to give Wim Eggink’s portrait a prominent place. “To honor him forever,” says initiator Leo Paul, affiliated with the Faculty of Geosciences. “During the move of the faculty to a new building a few years ago, Eggink’s old portrait was lost.” Fortunately, it wasn’t expensive, Paul emphasizes: “It was just his enlarged passport photo in a photo frame.”
