The advice to stop international students without a room now is contrary to the core values of the university. “We do this with a heavy heart, because international talent is important for our research and education,” explains a policy advisor. “But international students can also end up in undesirable and stressful situations. They often have no network, which means that they end up in expensive hotel rooms, for example. That is not what we wish for them.”
