The mixed group of young demonstrators (Lemmens: “university, hbo, mbo, theoretically educated, practically educated: it was all mixed together”) went to the cafe on the Nobelstraat under the motto ‘Don’t be a brute, give students the choice’. There was a speech given. Lemmens: “What we actually said was ‘we are here out of solidarity with MBO students.’ We made our point clear, but we didn’t want to be too much of a burden, also for other catering entrepreneurs, so after that we just went into town.”
