The owner of the Spar says that he cannot grow into a full-fledged supermarket at the current location. “As an entrepreneur that is terrible, but it is especially so for the students,” says Spar entrepreneur Martijn ten Berge. According to him, after the demolition of the Langeveld building in 2028, a supermarket will not open again until 2032. That would mean that there would be no supermarket for more than four years.
