T. was linked by the police to 18 rapes, which caused a lot of fear and unrest in Utrecht and the surrounding area in 1995, 1996 and 2001. He wanted to say nothing about those rapes after his arrest and during the many court sessions that followed. Eventually he was convicted in 2017 on appeal for four cases where DNA was found of him. Women who had fallen victim to him followed the session today through a video connection in another room.
