Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague and Utrecht believe that better agreements should be made on this at a national level. Municipalities have been discussing this with BKR for some time, but that has not yet yielded any results. That is why the G4 cities are now “flying forward” and are going to manually remove BKR reports from residents who successfully come out of a debt trajectory. Utrecht is also working on automatically removing the reports. In the meantime, residents with a successful debt assistance process can request the municipality to withdraw their BKR registration.
