“Cities are on the front line in the climate crisis,” says Dijksma. “It is therefore important that they have a voice in international agreements on the climate and that they should be better equipped financially to comply with the implementation of climate policy. In my role as Special Envoy I am therefore committed to the run-up to and during the COP27 We are committed to better cooperation between the different levels of government. Only by giving cities a prominent place can we achieve the climate goals.”
