Earlier this week, Van Sambeek said about that period: “I saw it as a great time, with incredibly motivated volunteers who made the most beautiful things. Everything was possible at that time.” Many of those former volunteers later went on to work professionally in the media. Van Sambeek has received many compliments in recent weeks about his role at the Stadsomroep, many call him their mentor.
