Utrecht expects to receive mainly women and children from families. The last thing the municipality wants is to shelter them in large halls with camp beds. That is why, in the first instance, we are looking for shelters with privacy, good sanitary facilities and daytime activities, Mayor Sharon Dijksma said in a letter to the council. If the need really arises, sports halls and other large locations will come into view so that no one is left on the street.
