Today a city council committee met about a plan to accommodate project developers so that they are prepared to build. A year ago there was a first so-called ‘tranche’ of measures. “In this way, the municipality has given specific measures a boost to a number of projects that would start construction within the foreseeable future,” says the council. “The Utrecht approach is based on acceleration of housing construction through customized, project-specific measures (change in ambitions, policy, programmatic or financial), start building in the short term, transparency (open books), based on reciprocity and is aimed at affordable housing construction.”
