Authorities have been warning for some time that the homeless problem in the city is growing, partly due to labor migrants from Eastern Europe. They come to the Netherlands to work, but if they lose their job, they often also lose their shelter. In many cases, they are not entitled to shelter according to European regulations, but now that the cold weather regulation is in force, more people are knocking.
