Utrecht will not be banned from begging. That is the outcome of a debate today in a committee of the Utrecht city council. Councilor David Bosch (UtrechtNu!) would like such a ban to combat increasing nuisance from so-called ‘professional’ beggars. A majority of the council, as well as mayor Sharon Dijksma, do not like such a ban.
