According to the municipality, the proposal is supported by the Association of Dutch Municipalities (VNG), the four major cities, the transport regions, ANWB, BOVAG, Veilig Verkeer Nederland and the Cyclists’ Union. “The need for increased traffic enforcement for improved road safety is widely supported.”
