The Domtorentje was conceived in 1922 by Theo Blom. Van Slooten: “Thirty years ago we took over the business from his son Gerard Blom. He then said: we make quite a few Domtorentjes. So I thought: well, it must be. I had never heard of Domtorentjes. But Gerard said: it is probably still there (patented, ed.), so then I thought: then it must be very special.”
