Utrecht after criticism: elephant paths are part of it and actually have a positive effect on nature

Once a year there is a municipality-wide campaign to restore grass. “Elephant paths are then re-sown with grass seed. If the elephant path is no longer in use, the grass will recover. If the elephant path is still used frequently, the grass will not grow and the path will continue to exist.”
