Utrecht – The municipality of Utrecht has made major mistakes in a long-running conflict with a resident, concludes research agency Berenschot. Because the municipality did not respond or responded too late to the man’s many objections and requests for information, he was entitled to an amount of 930,000 euros. According to Berenschot, a lack of direction, too little overview and an inadequate strategy are the main reasons why the objection blunder resulted in a claim worth millions. “Several departments within the municipality did not know what to do with the complex file.”
