A former child soldier, Sierra Leonean Ishmael Beah made a name for himself by publishing The Road Traveled, a poignant autobiographical account of the civil war, its darkness and its brutality. He is also the author of two novels: Demain le soleil, published in 2015 and La petite famille, which has just been published in French translation.
