For several years, the home care service in Oxelösund has been plagued with concerns, which is reflected, among other things, in the measurable goals that the municipality follows up annually in its annual report.

According to the National Board of Health and Welfare’s survey, home care recipients get to meet many different staff from the home care service for short periods, a picture that is confirmed by 87-year-old Kerstin Lindh who has lived in Oxelösund all her life.

Doubling during the term of office

In the election year 2018, the number of people that a user in the home care service met was on average 11. By 2021, the average had increased to 24 people. At the end of 2021, measures were taken which, according to the municipality, improved the situation somewhat, which during a new survey gave the result 22 employees per user for two weeks. But during the term of office, there has thus been a doubling of the number of people a home care worker meets during a two-week period.
