USA weekly oil inventories drop by 2 million barrels

(Finance) – They fell less than expected crude oil inventories in the USA in the last week. The EIA, the division of the US Department of Energy, reported that crude oil stocks, in the last seven days to January 10, 2025, fell by approximately 2 million barrels to 412.7 MBG, against expectations for a decrease of 3.5 million.

The stocks of distillates recorded an increase of 3.1 million, reaching 132 MBG, against expectations for a change of -1 million, while inventories of petrols recorded an increase of 5.9 million to 243.6 MBG (an increase of 2.7 million was expected).

The strategic reserves of oil increased by 0.5 million to 394.3 MBG.
