USA University of Michigan consumer confidence falls in April

(Finance) – American consumer confidence worsened in May. According to preliminary data fromUniversity of Michiganconsumer sentiment is estimated to be down to 59.1 points from 65.2 points in April and is even worse than analysts’ expectations who expected a drop of up to 64 points.

During the same period the index on the present situation fell to 63.6 points from the previous 69.4 points, while the index on expectations it dropped to 56.3 points from the previous 62.5.
