USA, University of Michigan: August consumer confidence above expectations

USA University of Michigan consumer confidence falls in April

(Finance) – The index that measures US consumer confidence has been revised upwardsaccording to the latest survey conducted by the University of Michigan, which published the final estimate.

In August 2022, the consumer sentiment index was revised to 58.2 points from 55.1 in the preliminary reading and in the consensus, and against 51.5 in July.

The component relating to expectations was also revised upwardswhich is positioned at 58 above the 54.9 estimated by analysts and the first reading, while that on current condition it is positioned at 58.6 points higher than the 55.5 of the preliminary indication and analysts.
