(Finance) – Improves manufacturing activity in the Chicago area.
In January, the PMI Chicago index stood at 39.5 points against the 36.9 points of the previous month. However, the data is lower than the expectations of analysts, which were for an increase of up to 40.3 points.
It should be remembered that a level of the index above 50 points denotes an expansion while a level below 50 points indicates a contraction in the US manufacturing sector.
