(Finance) – Manufacturing activity is slowing down in the Chicago area, even though it remains in the expansion zone. In April, theChicago PMI index it stood at 56.4 points from 62.9 points the previous month. The figure is also lower than analysts’ expectations who were for a drop of up to 62 points.
Please remember that an index level above 50 points denotes an expansion while a level below 50 points indicates a contraction of the US manufacturing sector.
