(Finance) – The incomes of American families are growing according to expectations, while personal expenses have grown less than expected.
According to Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) of the United States, i personal consumption (PCE) they increased by 0.7% in December 2023 after the +0.4% of the previous month and expected by analysts. Real consumption recorded a +0.5% as in November.
THE personal incomes recorded an increase of 0.3%, below the +0.4% recorded the previous month and in line with consensus estimates.
The PCE price index core, a measure of inflationhighlights a positive change of 0.2% on the month (compared to the +0.2% expected and +0.1% recorded the previous month) and 2.9% on the year (+3.2% the previous month, +3% expectations).
