(Finance) – Manufacturing activity worsens in the Chicago area. In the month of January, theChicago PMI index it stood at 46 points compared to 47.2 points in the previous month. The data appears even worse than analysts’ estimateswhich were for a climb up to 48 points.
Please remember that an index level above 50 points denotes an expansion while a level below 50 points indicates a contraction in the US manufacturing sector.
