(Finance) – The labor costs in the United States in the 1st quarter of 2022. According to the findings of the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the labor cost index rose by 1.4% compared to + 1% in the previous quarter. The figure is higher than the consensus estimates (+ 1.1%).
In the same period the wages and salaries (which account for 70% of the total cost) increased by 1.2% against the + 1% of the previous quarter (figure revised by a preliminary of + 1.1%). THE costs for indemnity (benefits) increased by 1.8%, against + 0.9% in the previous quarter.
