(Finance) – Mixed signals come from the US housing market in January 2022. According to the US Department of Commerce i new construction sites started they recorded a decline of 4.1%, reaching 1.638 million units, after the 0.3% increase recorded in December (revised figure from + 1.4%). Analysts’ expectations had forecast a number of construction sites to rise to 1,700 million.
THE building permits issued by the authorities competent authorities recorded an increase of 0.7% to 1.899 million units in the same period, after the + 9.8% recorded the previous month. Analysts’ expectations were for an increase in permits to 1.760 million.
