(Finance) – The American tertiary sector slows down, although it remains in expansionary territory. According to the survey conducted by the Institute for Supply Management among purchasing managers of service companies, theNon-manufacturing ISM to December 2023 led to 50.6 pointsfrom 52.7 points in the previous month, lower than market expectations (52.6 points).

It should be remembered that a index less than 50 it denotes a phase of business contraction and a prevalence of pessimism among company purchasing managers.

Looking at the individual components, that on corporate activity rose to 56.6 points from 55.1 in the previous month, while that on orders to 52.8 points from 55.5 points (expectations at 56.1) and that of employment rose to 43.3 points from 50.7 (expectations at 51.0). The sui component drops prices to 57.4 points from 58.3 (expectations 57.3).
