USA inflation slows to 3 in June Positive futures

(Finance) – US inflation slows down in June. According to Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) American, consumer prices recorded a 3% rise on an annual basis, below the consensus (+3.1%) and slowing down compared to the 4% expansion reported in May.

The figure is therefore more comforting than expected, even if it still remains below the 2% target of the American central bank, and from which the Federal Reserve could base its next monetary policy.

The “core” rate, i.e. the consumer price index excluding the more volatile components such as food and energy, more observed by the Fed, recorded a 0.2% increase on a monthly basis, below the consensus (+0.3%) and the previous month (+0.4%). The trend variation stands at 4.8%, against the +5% estimated by the market and after the +5.3% of the previous month.
