(Finance) – Slightly more than expected weekly gas storage in the USA. According to the Energy Information Administration (EIA), a division of the US Department of Energy, gas storage in the week ending April 22, 2022, increased by 40 BCF (billion cubic feet).
The figure turns out to be slightly above the consensus (+38 BCF). The week before, there had been an increase of 53 BCF.
The total stocks they therefore reached 1,490 billion cubic feet, resulting in a decrease of 21.4% compared to a year ago (when they were 1,896) and a decrease of 17% compared to the average of the last five years (1,795 BCF).
