(Finance) – Increase less than expected weekly gas storage in the USA. According to the Energy Information Administration (EIA), a division of the US Department of Energy, gas storage in the week ending August 12, 2022 was found to be in 18 BCF increase (billion cubic feet).
The figure is revealed below the consensus (+34 BCF). The week before, there had been growth of 44 BCF.
The total stocks they therefore reached 2,519 billion cubic feet, resulting in a decrease of 10.5% compared to a year ago (when they were 2,815) and a decrease of 12.7% compared to the average of the last five years (2,886 BCF) .
