(Finance) – Weekly gas stocks in the USA are increasing more than expected. According to theEnergy Information Administration (EIA), division of the US Department of Energy, gas storage in the week ending May 31, 2024 increased by 98 BCF (billion cubic feet).
The data turns out to be above the consensus (+89 BCF). The week before there was an increase of 84 BCF.
The total stocks they therefore reached 2,893 billion cubic feet, an increase of 14.8% compared to a year ago (when they were equal to 2,520) and an increase of 25.1% compared to the average of the last five years of 2,312 BCF.
