(Finance) – Weekly inventories of gas in the USA are down more than expected. According to theEnergy Information Administration (EIA)division of the US Department of Energy, gas storage in the week ending January 13, 2023 they were down 82 BCF (billion cubic feet) versus the 71 BCF contraction estimated by analysts.
The week before, there had been an increase of 11 BCF.
The total inventory have therefore reached 2,320 billion cubic feet, resulting in a decrease of 0.7% compared to a year ago (when they were equal to 2,839) and an increase of 1.2% compared to the average of the last five years (2,786 BCF ).
