On Wednesday, the US Federal Reserve left the policy rate unchanged in the range of 5.25 to 5.5 percent. The central bank announced this in a press release.
The announcement was expected, both according to market expectations and experts. The interest rate thus remains in the interval for the fourth time in a row.
Just like in Sweden, the US central bank has an inflation target of 2 percent. In December, inflation amounted to 3.4 percent, which can be compared with the peak of 9.1 percent in July 2022.
